COMMISSIONS
A commissioned artwork is perfect for anyone who wants a piece created to fit a space perfectly, for anyone who may have missed out on a particular original piece and want a similar one created, or for someone requiring a special milestone piece created as a gift.
I love working with clients and designers on custom commissions to create the perfect art piece to bring a room to life. Its a joy to work collaboratively with my clients individually or with their families and friends to create something special and unique for the receiver.
As each commissioned piece requires my specific time and attention, I am only able to take on a limited number of clients each year, so you may need to book in advance depending on your timelines. Contact me to discuss.
Once we discuss all the elements of your piece, a custom quote can be prepared for your consideration.
The process:
1. Understanding your vision:
The first step is to meet in person or over the phone so that I can get an understanding of your artwork vision.
I like to understand what previous works of mine you like to give me a better understanding of the style you are looking for. I love working collaboratively with my clients and can utilise my interior styling expertise to help you make the right choices for your chosen space. If you are not sure of what style you prefer, I can photoshop some of my artwork into a photo of your space so you can clearly see how different colours and styles will fit into the room.
Please note the commissioned piece will not be a direct replication of a past work, rather influenced by or produced in the same style and/or palette.
Some questions to consider:
- Where will your Private Commission artwork be located? (e.g. Dining Room, Bedroom, Hallway)
- What are the dimensions of your wall, the Length x Height?
- What orientation would you like? Portrait vs Landscape.
- Commission? (e.g. Title of artwork, Art Story Style/Composition) please supply a painting name as your inspiration.
- Do you have an ideal size in mind for your Private Commission? (e.g. 100cm x 100cm, 120 x 150 cm, 150cm x 150cm, 200cm x 300cm) The size of the desired artwork in Centre meters.
- Which past pieces of mine are you drawn to?
- What colour palette is in your vision?
- What type of frame is in your vision?
2. Confirming the details of your piece:
I will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your enquiry to set up a time to discuss your commissioned piece. Once we have confirmed all of the above details I will create a specific artwork brief for your approval.
Once approved, a 40% deposit is required for the piece and then your painting will be submitted into my production schedule. Once the deposit has been paid, the lead time is typically around 4-6 weeks, subject to my workload at the time.
3. Once the magic is completed
I will invite you into my studio to view your piece. Alternatively, I can send through photos for your comments/approval prior to framing. The final payment is required before delivery. Framing is included in the cost of the painting (you have a choice of Black, White or an Oak wooden frame and of course we can discuss custom framing options for an additional charge as well).
